Behind the Scenes

As an Illuminate member you will be invited to talks given by members of museum staff about what their job entails.
This behind the scene discussion gives a unique insight into what someone working within a Nottingham City Museum does and particularly how they work with historical collections.
Louise Dunning, curator of Fine and Decorative Arts spoke to Illuminate about her job and gave us curatorial information about some of the collection at Nottingham Museum.
We viewed the stores (where work not on display is kept) including work by Dame Laura Knight, and learnt about collection management and research techniques.
It's interesting to hear the influence of a collection on someones job.
