About Illuminate

Illuminate, Nottingham Museum's Young Arts Collective, ran for seven years from 2011-2018. Illuminate gave 15-25 year olds the opportunity to collaborate and co-produce projects and events alongside museum staff and creative proffessionals at Nottingham City Museum and Galleries. This site acts as an archive of their work and projects.

The group met every Wednesday at Brewhouse Yard from 4-6pm to enjoy tasty jaffa cakes and work on a range of innovative projects.

The group participated in skills workshops about topics like social media, communications, performance art, photography, filmmaking and more,  they worked on projects linked to art, history and heritage. Past projects include taking part in Nottingham Light Night at Brewhouse Yard, making films based on exhibitions at Wollaton Hall, building a space-punk feedback machine and even designing a room at Nottingham castle!
