PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY


Zine Making workshop
Long Gallery
11am- 3.30pm
Drop-in

Work with Illuminate to create a series of self-published magazines ( Zines) throughout the day.
Share your thoughts around each theme, create a page and submit this to our Illuminate editors to become part of our unique Take Over Zine series.
A print run of these Zines will be published and distributed throughout the day with images and text created by you!
The Zine will also be available to view on-line after the event.

 Badge Making

Design and create a badge to wear and share your passionate causes with others. 

Magnetic Manifestos
Long Gallery
11am-3.30pm
Drop-in

Use our magnetic board and letters to write your manifesto for a better world.  Photograph yourself with your slogan and share it with us @illuminatencmg #aworldtowin

The Take Over Stage
Long Gallery
11am - 3.30pm

A programme of music, poetry and talks will be running throughout the day, including

Poetry from The Mouthy Poets
Music from Revolution House and indie band The Fleets
Live V.J-ing from artist Laura Mossop
Revolution inspired costumes from artist Salina Popova
Plus
Poetry written especially for the day by Illuminate and Outburst LGBTQ youth group

Screen Print your own T-shirt with Bantum clothing Ltd
Studio One

Session One: 10.30am - 12.30pm  Exact time tbc
Session Two: 2pm – 4pm Exact Time to tbc

Work with Simeon from Bantum Clothing Ltd  to create your own heat press design or use our Illuminate Take Over screen print to print a T-shirt or Tote Bag.
Then wear them at the event !



Poetry workshop with The Mouthy Poets
The Den
1.30pm – 3pm
Open Mic slot 3pm- 3.20pm

The Mouthy Poets are a collective of young writers and performers based here in Nottingham.  They are committed to empowering people and helping them find a voice – so what better place for them to be at than this event! Join them to develop your writing, and to share or not to share at our open mic slot. Whether you have experience of writing or not, this workshop will give you the opportunity to explore your thoughts around what you have seen in the exhibition and give you the space to have your own say.
