As you can see we've started working towards our new project loking at Non-british involvement in WW1.
Here's a little more about the project and what we'll be up to over the coming months.....
We will be gathering and filming family stories relating to the First World War from different national community groups in Nottingham. We are hoping to draw out stories about a range of topics, not just people’s experience on the front but also how the war influenced things such as medicine, industry, women’s roles and fashion.
From January 2014 until July we will be working in project groups focusing on different elements of the project such as film making, graphic design, research, oral histories and exhibition design, allowing us to develop skills in the areas that interest us most. We will be working with Museum staff and creative professionals such as film makers, graphic and web designers to creatively display these stories as part of the Trent to Trenches exhibition at Nottingham Castle in July 2014.
We will also be planning events and activities to run alongside the exhibition and working towards our Bronze or Silver Arts Award.
